Have you ever had your horse spook at something right when entering the gate to run your reining pattern? Even worse, when you are taking your first lope departure, spook at the judge!!

All show horses trained at 4A Farm are put through police style obstacle and sensory training by a Nationally Certified Mounted Police Instructor and Trainer.

Not all horses have the personality to complete sensory training to a law enforcement level but sensory training will help you to control an anxious horses flight reaction. This training is not a guarantee that your horse will not spook, but we try to give your horse a "That's Nothing Compared To What I've Seen", attitude.

Sensory training will not teach a horse not to be scared. Nature bred in the flight instinct for thousands of years and No One can change that with a couple months training.

If you have ever watched a herd of horses in a large pasture, you have noticed that when the lead horse feels a threat the whole herd reacts.
The basis of good sensory training is for your horse to trust
You and wait for You to react first.

Even a horse that has had sensory training will loose his confidence if the rider does not take the position of the lead horse in the heard. I can instruct you on how to ride with the authority of the lead horse.

Tim teaches Civilian Mounted Self Defense Clinics. These clinics are designed to teach civilian trail riders how to defend them self if they are attacked.
